Deleting Your Account
Learn how to permanently delete your ReportRocket account and what happens to your data.
Account Deletion
You can delete your ReportRocket account at any time. This is a permanent action.
Before You Delete
Consider these alternatives:
- Just taking a break? No action needed – your account stays dormant
- Switching schools? Leave your current school first, then join the new one
- Privacy concerns? Review our data security practices
How to Delete
Step 1: Access Account Settings
Click your profile icon in the sidebar, then "Account Settings".
Step 2: Scroll to Danger Zone
At the bottom of the page, you'll find "Delete Account".
Step 3: Confirm Deletion
You'll need to:
- Type "DELETE" to confirm
- Click the delete button
- Confirm one more time in the popup
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account:
| Data Type | What Happens |
|-----------|--------------|
| Profile | Permanently removed |
| Classes | Permanently removed |
| Students | Permanently removed |
| Reports | Permanently removed |
| Settings | Permanently removed |
| Usage history | Anonymised for analytics |
What Doesn't Transfer
- No refunds for unused credits or licence time
- No data export option (download what you need first)
- No recovery after deletion
School Members
If you're part of a school licence:
Before Deleting
- Leave the school first – This reassigns your classes to the admin
- Then delete your account
Why This Matters
Your students and reports may need to be preserved for school records. Leaving first gives the admin the option to reassign your data.
After Deletion
- Email address can be reused for a new account
- Previous data is not recoverable
- Any shared Review Packs you created are removed
